Jewelry Care Tips

It is important to regularly inspect your jewelry for signs of wear or damage. Here are some simple tips to help keep your pieces looking their best:

  1. Remove your jewelry during activities that could cause scratching, impact, or other damage. When in doubt, take it off and store it safely.

  2. Take off your jewelry before sleeping to prevent accidental damage or stress on delicate settings.

  3. Avoid exposing your jewelry to chemicals, especially chlorine. If contact occurs, rinse your jewelry with clean water immediately.

  4. Bathe and apply lotions, perfumes, or hair products before putting on your jewelry. Organic gemstones like pearls and opals are especially sensitive to acids, including those found in sweat.

  5. Store each piece separately, ideally in a soft-lined box or pouch, to avoid tangling, rubbing, or scratching. Pearls should always be stored apart, as harder gemstones can easily scratch them.

  6. Fasten chains and necklaces before storing to help prevent knots and tangles.

  7. Remove jewelry before cooking, cleaning, or washing up to protect it from chemicals, heat, and impact.

  8. Keep your jewelry away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and damp environments when storing, as these conditions can damage both metals and gemstones over time.

With a little care, your jewelry will stay as brilliant as the memories it holds.
